Happy birthday to Dr. Daniel Anderson. This month also marks 36 years since he was appointed President of Appalachian Bible College. Dr. A always signs his correspondence with Psalm 84:11-12:
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.”

An ABC professor and some of his family took off for Mexico City, where they are assisting longtime missionary friends. As they share through music, participate in camp, and encourage the missionaries, ask God to give them a fruitful week. #ABCsummermissions
On the anniversary of her homegoing, we remember June Fisher. After attending Appalachian Bible Institute with her husband, Pete, in the 1950s, Mrs. Fisher became the first president of the Ladies Auxiliary in 1963. She continued as a friend of Appalachian Bible College in formal and informal roles until her graduation to heaven. This plaque is placed in front of Beukema Hall in gratitude for her legacy.

In Asia this month, a senior is serving an internship with a group that uses English classes to make contacts with people who have never heard the gospel. Pray that she develops as a teacher and that God draws her students to himself. #ABCsummermissions

A faculty member traveled to Jamaica with his local church in order to put on Vacation Bible Schools and assist churches there this week. Pray for gospel seeds to find fertile soil. #ABCsummermissions
ABC donated approximately 1,000 duplicate books from the John Van Puffelen Library to a Bible institute being established in Kenya. Pastor Situma, who is spearheading the project, is pictured with ABC Librarian David Dunkerton and Pastor Bill Sturm. Before shipping them across the ocean, the men prayed over the books and the future church leaders who will use them.

A 2019 graduate of ABC, Ali Whitworth has joined the staff as Administrative Assistant in the Student Services division. Miss Whitworth began filling this position part-time during her senior year; she also served on Student Council and happens to be the reigning women's champion of the Beautiful Feet 5k. Having grown up in a church planter's family in Utah, she transferred as a sophomore into the Bible/Theology and Youth & Family Ministry program with a concentration in Biblical Counseling.
"Studying biblical counseling here at ABC has only whetted my appetite to learn more about counseling and to pursue further education in that area. I see my time here at ABC as an opportunity to get firsthand experience in counseling and working with people, which is something I desire to do in full-time ministry someday. In my opinion, every student or individual being trained for ministry should invest in at least one counseling course because counseling is so practical and nothing less than discipleship!"
