A Virginia section of the Appalachian Trail provided a rugged and beautiful classroom for these students last weekend. As part of the Backpacking course, they experienced navigation, risk management, hygiene and water purification, and nutrition in a wilderness setting.
Today we welcome many parents and grandparents to campus. Dr. Anderson gave a fitting message in chapel this morning, from Joshua 24:14-15, "...but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

This year's Expository Preaching Week fell on the Passion Week leading up to Easter, and I Corinthians 1:18-31 provided a timely text. These students preached on Christ's cross: foolishness to the world but wisdom and power to them which are called.

Warrior athletes and coaches looked back on a good year of intercollegiate soccer, volleyball, and basketball at last night's banquet. The special speaker was Tom Minturn, a 1994 grad who played both basketball and soccer for the Warriors. Win or lose, ABC athletics is about building character and honoring God.
T-minus 5 hours till IMPACT 2017 is underway! Pray for the speaker, Dr. Newcomer, and the 200+ teens joining us for a dynamic 20 hours.

διάκονος is a Greek word for "servant," and it's also the name of the annual community service project headed up by the ABC Student Council. Thanks to these servants, 10 bags of trash were picked up around the I-64/Hwy 19 intersection in Beckley.

Rejoice with us! God is moving at Mount Olive Bible College, a ministry of ABC in the maximum-security prison. On Resurrection Sunday, an MOBC student-inmate preached in the prison church for the first time, with 144 inmates present (there are 1,000 at the facility). MOBC students will soon be assisting the chaplain with four baptisms in the prison gym. And another inmate placed his trust in Christ this past weekend.

Junior Senior Banquet 2017: Voyage of a Lifetime. Glen Ferris Inn on the Kanawha River was a beautiful setting to hear from special speaker Dr. Charles Bethel and to celebrate the Class of 2017.
